Why is it so important to Release Negativity?

Regardless of your Nationality, Religion, Upbringing, Spirituality, etc, I think its safe to say that we all trust Newton’s Third Law, Action and Reaction, forces always occur in pairs, and one body cannot exert a force on another without experiencing a force itself.

That is because it is physically verifiable, that when you punch a wall with your first, hence you hit the wall with force, that same amount of force is returned by the wall.

Or, if you row a boat and push the water backwards, you move forward.

Action= Reaction.

Even though this thought process has been around since the 1600’s and probably even earlier, it is truly the same as the Spiritual belief of Cause and Effect. Nothing is by chance. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This can also be explained by Karma, what you put out in the universe will come back to you, and this is not only speaking of the bad, we can have good karma too!

With that little Life Lesson, it is easier to understand why holding onto negative feelings and thoughts can be harmful to your entire well being. Not saying that you should never get mad, or upset or jealous even. It is healthy to experience your emotions and go through the natural healing or growing process. We need all of our emotions to do this, positive and negative. However feeling things, and working through it and releasing them is the correct way to go about such healing.

Holding onto these feelings is not.

The most important thing to understand about holding onto negative emotions is that YOU are the only one being affected. Yes, it may give you joy to watch an ex that hurt you dearly to suffer themselves, Or for a job you were let go of have a hard time with a new employee, or even to see someone who made fun of you now being made fun of themselves. It can bring some satisfaction, but then what? You are no better now than you were, and now everyone is miserable.

Instead, why not heal and love your own self… and to do this, means to release the hate and anger towards others. Releasing resentment, even if it is completely justifiable, is not only going to allow blockages to be erased, it is also going to allow more positive experiences, people, and abundance to come your way. It’s as if you have a storage unit that is filled to the brim. Someone wants to give you a huge box of diamonds, however you need to remove items from your storage to make room for it. So get rid of those old photos of people you don’t like, throw out all the remembrances of difficulty, let go of the idea that people must pay for hurting or harming you, and clear the space.

You deserve to be happy. You also deserve to let go of anything that is not serving you. Let go of all that you don’t need. Change is not easy, but neither is being unhappy!
